Apparently it usually does take me 3 weeks to get this posted, but down the line I won't care how belated it was, so here it is. :-)

10 goals from 2016 )

This one goes to eleven!

Ten Eleven things I did in 2015:
Have A Baby is highest on the list, but not the only thing! )

Ten Eleven things I would like to do in 2016:
each of which could probably make for a whole entry by itself )
chanaleh: [Erica and baby Aria] (aria-7weeks)
In contrast to last year's list (LJ | DW), this one will be impressively short. :-)

Merrillville, IN
New Buffalo, MI (Valentine's/anniversary weekend)
Crown Point, IN (St. Anthony's Hospital, maternity ward :-)

... I really think that was it, unless I am forgetting any major adventures.

Apparently I never did a proper "year in review, year in preview" entry for 2014/2015. (cf. 2013/2014 edition, which seems a million years ago: LJ | DW) I guess I could argue that if I do one every other year, I'm still covered, content-wise? Kind of?
chanaleh: [Erica and Aaron] (etrace)
Happy new year!

I've never bothered with this meme, but since this is almost certainly the longest list I will ever have for a single year, and it makes for a nice year-in-review, I'll try it. ;-)

... and continuously back in Merrillville, IN, since July 4.

And while not every night of 2014 was shared with [livejournal.com profile] etrace (we lost a bunch of January), every one of those places was, which is pretty awesome.

Speaking of travel, I should point out (since people have been asking me) that we're not planning on coming to Arisia this year. I'll miss you all, but it's just not in the cards -- no time off yet from the new job, still catching up on finances, and so on. On the plus side, though, there will still be Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat services at Arisia thanks to intrepid hosts [livejournal.com profile] mbarr and [livejournal.com profile] crewgrrl. (But no MuffinButtons. If you need some, place your orders now for pre-con delivery!)
chanaleh: EVERYTHING WILL BE AMAZING (amazing)
Slightly belated, but here it is finally!

10 goals from 2013 ( cf. original list: LJ | DW )
A mixed bag, but overall, progress was made. )

10+ additional achievements of 2013:
This is almost entirely discontinuous from anything I envisioned last year. )

15 goals for 2014:
I was going to make it 10, but then I found I really do have more plans than that framed out for this year. )

Wishing all of us a year of physical health, emotional growth, and spiritual abundance.
chanaleh: Muffin the Vampire Baker: "It's him, Muffin! You have to protect him at all costs!" "I'M ON IT!" (i'm on it!)
10 goals from 2012 ( cf. original list: LJ | DW )
A mixed bag, but overall, progress was made. )

10+ additional achievements of 2012:
It was actually a good and stabilizing year for me, despite the ongoing crises in the world at large. )
11. ... And, oh yeah, turned 40 and had an awesome celebration to mark it.

10 goals for 2013:
Some that build on last year's, and some new ones. )

Wishing all of us a year of physical health, emotional growth, and spiritual abundance.

Pro tip: Crossposting from Dreamwidth requires different syntax for LJ user links. But it works, it works!

Anyway.

Ten achievements of 2011: 2011 was the year I... )

Ten goals for 2012:

1. Finally replace the Treo 680 with an Android phone
It's coming to be necessary for my professional cred as a web/social media maven.

2. Go contra dancing at least once per calendar month
This represents a sixfold increase over 2011, when I went a total of twice.

3. Establish a habit of walking home from work at least once a week
When I was unemployed on vacation for 2 months, I was walking miles every day and it was great.

4. Implement new website for Ramaz
A professional goal, not a personal one, but then the professional is personal, as they say.

5. Host a Shabbat dinner
With lots of singing. In NYC. Who wants to come?

6. Take (and post) more pictures
Documenting my experience of the city. You see things differently with a camera in your hand.

7. Get net worth up over $100,000
90% of this is locked up in retirement savings, as it should be, but still. It's reachable.

8. Join the Frontstage side of the Blue Hill Troupe
Hoping that next year's shows will be of more interest to me than Utopia. We'll find out this spring!

9. Establish a partnership with the shared goal of having a family
Let's acknowledge that there are lots of possible (and many mutually exclusive) subgoals under this, the exact combination of which will vary highly depending on the chain of circumstances, so I'm not really ready to unpack all of them right now. But I'm naming the intention.

10. Complete a draft of a novel
In some ways this goal feels the farthest away... and reaches the farthest back, since I wanted to Be A Writer from the time I could hold a pencil.

It's 2009!

2008 seems to have been a weird/tough/transitional year for a lot of people. A brief overview of the path the past year or two has covered )

Goals and aspirations for 2009:
  • Use my powers only for good and never for evil.

  • A January calendaring entry is in the works, hopefully sometime this weekend.
    Shabbat shalom, y'all.

    It's 2007!

New Year's Eve festivities were curtailed somewhat by my having a lousy cold. It's improving now, though. Apologies to those whose gatherings I missed ([livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt et al., [livejournal.com profile] sweetmmeblue and [livejournal.com profile] drwex, and [livejournal.com profile] dpolicar). Nor did we get out to First Night at all, as we have the past two years. But thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kalliejenn2 and [livejournal.com profile] gilana for giving us somewhere more festive to be at midnight than curled up on the couch watching The Electric Company... as much fun as that was, also. :-)

    Principal highlights of 2006 included:
  • Buying a car
  • Moving to Somerville in with Tiger Boy
  • Being in The Margaret Ghost
  • Making CD-recording progress with Honorable Menschen
  • Working a whole lot at my challenging, fulfilling, if occasionally crazy-making new job

  • I think that pretty much covers the basics. Otherwise, life goes on much the same (lots of social things, lots of shul things), even when I don't have time to LJ it. :-} I may have some things to say about goals and aspirations for 2007... but not tonight.

PS[A]: Somerville has a new Ethiopian restaurant! Fasika (a.k.a. "Ethipuppian"), formerly of JP, has reopened at 145 Broadway, Somerville.
EDIT: Yes, I see that http://www.fasikarestaurant.com/ really is giving a password dialog every time you try to access it -- even Google's cached copy! In his inimitable fashion, though, [livejournal.com profile] ablock immediately called them up to notify them, so hopefully the link will work again in future. >:-) Meanwhile -- yes, we actually went over Xmas while [livejournal.com profile] jessruth and [livejournal.com profile] yaddie728 were here. Despite the shoehorned-into-a-sports-bar structure of the new digs, the food is indeed as good as previously. Hopefully as they get settled in (and we all start going there more often), they'll gradually be able to recreate the proper atmosphere.
