While poking around the LJ entries today of so many other people I know, I checked (on a whim) whether username muffin was available. It isn't, of course. But chanaleh was. Fear that it might disappear prompted me to pony up and join Right Now.

How much use I will end up making of this space, ultimately, remains to be seen. But hey, here I am.

muffin doesn't look really taken. It looks like someone had it once, and hasn't used it for nearly two years. Chances are she's forgotten she ever had the account and doesn't want it anymore. Write her an email and ask if she'll give it to you. It worked for me - I first tried to get an LJ account about a month after someone else grabbed "cos", and because of that, I gave up and went away, because I didn't want another username. But a year later, I looked again and saw that he'd stopped posting, so I emailed him, and he let me have his account after archiving copies of all of his old posts.
