It has occurred to me in the past few days exactly how much I have committed to in the next 2 months!

Ordered the color laser proof for

msmidge's ketubah, will have it tomorrow! (When I pick it up, they'll show me all the other available paper options, supposedly they have lots.) Two new ketubah (handwork) commissions for the summer, both referred by Rabbi Rim. One is to do Right Now -- for, shall we say, a double-bride wedding, yay! They only want me to do a single paragraph of the Hebrew, and the wedding is June 6, and they're FedExing me the document today so I'll probably do this Sunday morning (in-between singing engagements). The other is for the end of August, for my friend from shul.

Tonight: finish signage for concert, stop by shul to photocopy programs for concert, take a walk to the grocery store for (among other things) refreshments for the concert... make the very last corrections on the shul newsletter and deliver a final PDF for that... maybe vacuum... make some more headway on the Torah reading. And catch a breather with some pleasure reading, if I am lucky (or, perhaps, wise). But I doubt I will be.

Somewhere in here, I am supposed to be designing the event programs for Noreascon 4 (four documents for the four big events of Thursday through Sunday: the First Night festivity schedule, and playbills for the Retro Hugos, the actual Hugos, and the Masquerade). I should really start drafting something, but it will help to have content to play with. There's a general meeting Saturday afternoon so maybe I'll get something in place from that. I keep thinking I'd like to bring some kind of preliminary design draft to a meeting like this, but I have given up on that ambition for this week.

And I should start learning my lines, eh? I'll be taking my Lion in Winter script to Atlanta, that's for sure.

Okay, I'm leaving the office now. Really.

I love the fact that I was working from home today.

I'm not looking forward to next week, or next month for that matter.
Why did I have to be the person in the group with the largest case load right now?

(It's sad to say that I'm not looking forward to next month, even though Reunion and Harry Potter are in the beginning of it. It's the rest of the month that I dread.)

And I have it easier than our Area Counsel attorney does.

Rabbi Rim Meirowitz? He married us. We'd like to introduce him to our children one of these days. Where is he holding services these days? Thanks.

You are kidding!! Yes, that's the same Rim -- he was my sponsoring rabbi for my conversion, back when I lived in Waltham and he was at Temple Beth Israel. He's now at Shir Tikvah in Winchester. (Oh, and his daughter works with me now... small world indeed.)

Really small world - we were thinking about checking out Shir Tikvah because we heard it was welcoming to interfaith couples!

I used to work there--I can tell you that the staff are really open to interfaith couples (as I was part of one, and another staff member who's still there is too), and much of the congregation is interfaith. And Rim is great, and the cantor is great, and the temple administrator is great, and the assistant ed director is great. :) Whether the actual congregation is great is up to you to assess though--my perspective is kind of warped on that one.

What The Other Jess said. Breathe. :) I recommend this not only as your friend, but as your soon-to-be-stage-manager-again (yay!) Congrats on the handwork commissions.

My brother just got married, Jewish wedding, since his wife is Jewish and he converted to make her a happy person. The ketubah was hand made by the bride and her father and it was totally gorgeous!!! Calligraphy, hand painted border... I was amazed!!

I've handled the Lion in Winter videotape in the
library where I now work... but haven't actually
seen the movie yet.

It seems a curse of library work that I am exposed to
more works, but partake of less. Maybe it just seems
that way, 'cause I am more aware of just how much I am
missing that I COULD be reading.
