Gondoliers auditions: help!

This week, I'm auditioning for [livejournal.com profile] mitgsp for the first time in many years (my last show with them was Utopia in April 2003 Iolanthe in Nov. 2004). Their show this spring is The Gondoliers, which I really, really want to do... enough that I'd just as contentedly serve in the chorus. (I wanted to do Ruddigore just as much two springs ago, but in the end couldn't swing the time commitment. This year, I am prioritizing differently.)

[Poll #1520217]

ETA: I ended up singing for the Duchess, with "Sir Rupert Murgatroyd" (sorry, gang, I just can't seem to get behind "Were I thy bride"), and since I also got to pick my reading, I read for Tessa ("and... and I've done!"). Results TBA!

So do I, but it's a bit too high for me in the second act.

My problem is actually the reverse -- I've (temporarily, I hope) lost much of the middle-alto range, so while I can still go into the basement, anything between middle C and the F above it is a bit wonky. But I hope that now that I'm in voice lessons (and thus also at least semi-regular practice), I can retrieve the vocal range to go with the roles I'm aging into. :)
