nervous chatter, pay no heed
Friday, February 11th, 2005 08:24 amShaBot 6000 (a truly excellent weird-Jewish weekly web comic) is now syndicated to LJ! Shabbat shalom, everyone.
I am awake. I got almost 7.5 hours of sleep (which for me is fulfilling our director's directive to "get a LOT of sleep"). I just used the last coffee filter because I have not been to the grocery store in three weeks. I wonder if I can leave work half an hour early to do so? Either that or run across the street first thing tomorrow morning, but that sounds undesirable. I'm out of peanut butter, too.
I notice that I am rambling. :-)
Also, my forearms have that feeling that I've been clenching my hands for hours on end. Perhaps in my sleep, although I suspect I was doing it most of yesterday too. I do it a lot. But especially when I am panicking over the opening of my show in, oh, just under 12 hours....
I don't think calling in useless is going to help today. I must at least go in and finish printing out the last 400 pages of a 1668-page conference proceedings.

Date: Friday, February 11th, 2005 04:16 pm (UTC)I would say "break a leg"; but no matter what people claim, I can't imagine that's a useful thought.

Date: Friday, February 11th, 2005 05:38 pm (UTC)It all comes of stupid theater superstitions.
See, it's bad luck to wish someone good luck.
Hence, you (out loud) wish them bad luck, in order to wish them good luck.
(How this follows logically is beyond me, but there it is.)
Don't even get me started on the Scottish Play. ;-)
