ShaBot 6000 (a truly excellent weird-Jewish weekly web comic) is now syndicated to LJ! Shabbat shalom, everyone.

I am awake. I got almost 7.5 hours of sleep (which for me is fulfilling our director's directive to "get a LOT of sleep"). I just used the last coffee filter because I have not been to the grocery store in three weeks. I wonder if I can leave work half an hour early to do so? Either that or run across the street first thing tomorrow morning, but that sounds undesirable. I'm out of peanut butter, too.

I notice that I am rambling. :-)

Also, my forearms have that feeling that I've been clenching my hands for hours on end. Perhaps in my sleep, although I suspect I was doing it most of yesterday too. I do it a lot. But especially when I am panicking over the opening of my show in, oh, just under 12 hours....

I don't think calling in useless is going to help today. I must at least go in and finish printing out the last 400 pages of a 1668-page conference proceedings.

I had both of them syndicated for me ages ago and I publicized it everywhere I could think of. It's a pity some folks didn't know.

Breathing is highly recommended. (That was actually a Brandeis Professor Quote in Gravity, probably ten years ago, but it's been so useful in my daily life that I haven't forgotten it. :))

Break a leg! Depending on roommate angst issues, I will be there either tomorrow night or next weekend.

Lenny Bruce supposedly used to throw up backstage before every performance. So you're doing better already, right?

I wish that Everything's Relative would be syndicatable too. Its host publication, Jewish World Review, doesn't archive it properly or comprehensively.

Remember when the crushingly dull Dry Bones was the only Jewish strip in town? Oh, the progress we've made...

If you want something syndicated, talk to [livejournal.com profile] torgo_x. He's the man. Just be advised it might take awhile as he seems a bit busy lately.

Break a leg! I wish I could come see you on stage. I really enjoyed reading your short story, and I know you'll do a fantastic job bringing your character to life.

My God, I think I remember that Professor Quote (my onetime academic advisor, Marvin Fox z"l, supplied a disproportionate number, though not that one). Is Gravity still published? Good times, man, good times.

Uhm, I'd say you're welcome, but truthfully, since I haven't a paid account, I basically asked [livejournal.com profile] torgo_x to have mercy on me. So maybe I got it started, but he actually did it.

*puts tea in the kettle* (And possibly illegal substances, which might be more calming.)

I would say "break a leg"; but no matter what people claim, I can't imagine that's a useful thought.

I've never truly understood that one... the show I'm currently working on (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!) opened last night, and our Music Director did exactly what everyone was wishing... OK a week ago not last night, but still.

[I'm sure you know this, but...]
It all comes of stupid theater superstitions.

See, it's bad luck to wish someone good luck.
Hence, you (out loud) wish them bad luck, in order to wish them good luck.
(How this follows logically is beyond me, but there it is.)

Don't even get me started on the Scottish Play. ;-)

Like I said, I've never truly understood. I know the derivation.

No, far worse is the Scottish Musical. Occasionally known as: "Bridge of Doom". But that's not a superstition, that's me refusing to say the name because IT SUCKS.
