Gemini/Cancer is a "hard cusp", unlike, for instance, Aquarius/Pisces. People born on the Gemini/Cancer cusp tend to exhibit basically either Gemini or Cancer characteristics, depending on what they are. Lis, for instance, has almost no Gemini tendencies. She was born three hours after the cusp.

People on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp, like me, tend to exhibit characteristics of both.

Happy yesterbirthday, scholargipsy! Though maybe where you are it still is, for the moment.

Nope, not for the last 23 hours. But I appreciate the sentiment anyway. :)

That is totally fascinating. I didn't know there was a predictable distinction. Is it possible that Aquarius and Pisces are more similar to each other, so it's a grayer area?

I seem to have a lot of December birthdays on my friends list... I guess there were some fun spring breaks 2 or 3 decades ago...

(I suppose if someone wanted to, it wouldn't be difficult to calculate the probability of the distribution of birthdays skewing to one month by chance...)

I haven't the foggiest idea why. This is just stuff that our Professional Astrologer Friends told me a couple years back.

I exhibit characteristics of both, and I am at war with myself constantly. (the year I was born, 1967, it was Gemini until the 22nd. So I got lucky.)

My husband and daughter are both full-fledged Cancers. To them, I seem loud, flightly, half-assed, and intellectually promiscuous (and I am!). But within my own personality, Cancer has pretty much nothing good to recommend it: fat, slow, clingy, secretive, possessive. Yuck.

Actually, my parents were married in June, and it took 3 months to get it right...

Thank you sweetie.

I actually have a very sound explination for my June birthday. My sister's birthday is Sept 24th. When my sister turned 2, my mom & dad thought "gee, we should start trying for a second one" and almost nine months to the date...me :) Go mom and her fertility goddess genes ;)

Actually though, lots of people plan their pregnancies to end in May / June in New England. Summer is to hot & humid to be pregnant in and winther there's a chance of being trapped by a snow storm when you delivering.

No, a half-hour after the cusp.
About 6pm Central Time (and my mother woke up in the morning with the first labor pains)

Do you consider yourself an ornery cusp, then?
