Now it can be told....
Monday, August 8th, 2005 05:09 pmFor those who don't yet know: This has been in the works for about 2 weeks, but the official announcement from my boss only went to the rest of my workplace today, so now I can post it here publicly.
That's right: I've accepted another job offer. I'll be finishing up at MIT on Sept. 7th, and have the following week off.
I'm going to A K Peters (in Wellesley) as a Senior Production Editor, where I'll get to do a lot of the same basic sorts of things as I do now, but expand in both the editorial and design directions.
I'm a bit nerve-wracked, and sad to leave MIT, but also excited about the opportunity.
So, uh, if anyone wants any discounted MITP books before I leave, speak now. :-)
Tonight: final calligraphy class (I did some practicing yesterday which I'm happy with); then laundry I guess, so that I can get on with the serious packing.
Tomorrow:
theatreatfirst auditions for Merry Wives
Wednesday:
tremontstshul board meeting
Thursday: sushi with OtherJessica (not
jessruth), final cleaning and packing.
Friday: finish up at work; shul, where
sirleebutler will lead Kabbalat Shabbat (yay!); Tiger Boy returns from Edinburgh (double yay!), getting into Logan around 6:45pm.
Saturday: Ben & Sarah's wedding, 3pm; Erev Tisha B'Av maariv service, 8:45pm.
Sunday: depart for the airport around 3:30pm!
So, uh, if anyone wants any souvenirs from Israel, speak now!
It is with great sadness that I announce that after 6-1/2 exceptional years with the MIT Press Production department, [chanaleh] will be leaving to pursue another job opportunity.
[
chanaleh] joined the Production department in January 1999. Her superior communication and technical skills have been a huge contributor to the department's electronic vision. Her wonderful and kind manner will be greatly missed!
