The calm between storms

I would like to catch up with something more than "Had a good visit in Chicago," but I haven't the heart to go through it again, nor even to steal from the e-mail recap I wrote yesterday. Suffice it to saw that all went well and the funeral was very touching (it was the first time in probably 20 years that I saw my grandfather's gravesite, as well). And I enjoyed spending the rest of the time with my mom, aunts, and cousins in Chicago. But I think I'm still tired out, physically if not emotionally.

Yesterday: Got to see msmidge and family, with special guest appearances by laurens10, Tiger Boy, and The Future Rabbi Breindel. Lucked out on weather for the tremontstshul picnic, but people were apparently scared off by the storm warnings anyway, because we only got a dozen or so peope; but that made for a perfectly nice low-key turnout, really.

Today: Laundry. Did a yoga tape (interesting and felt good, but I think I need an even-more-beginner tape). Returned to the library and stocked up on vacation reading. Tried to burn the recovery disks for my new Windows XP system, now that I've finally bought DVD-Rs -- but failed out three of them in a row and gave up (bleah). Finally made up a few of the tremontstshul business cards I have been promising ablock for EVER. Ordered a bunch of color laser output including the Elokai Ntzor from last week, and miraclaire's ketubah. Perhaps I should go practice on the lettering for that in the meantime, and then go to bed as early as I conscionably can.

Also, I am now almost completely packed for Hawaii, because I have SO MUCH going on in the next few days that I am afraid of leaving it until 4am on Tuesday otherwise.

As far as I know we have no specific plans tomorrow before 5 pm, when we need to go to the airport, so if you have free time and would like to hang out (or baby out) again lemme know! :)
