I need to scan about 40 color images for a new book project. Does anyone have a scanner that I could come over and use for about 2 hours? (I'll do all the color correcting etc. at home; I just need to get them all off the paper, as it were.) Preferably sometime during the day on Tuesday, 7/24 (it's even a fast day, so I wouldn't impose on you for ANYTHING further), but if I can't get that, next week would be OK too.
EDIT: I just realized that several of the photos are 11x14. They will come down in size for the printed book, but I do need to scan the whole original if possible. I have no idea if anyone will happen to have an 11x17 flatbed in their home office (even those who are bigger print/publishing geeks than I am -- [livejournal.com profile] gilana offered hers and it's 9x12). But I may need to hold out for one if I can. Anyone?

In other news, I finished Deathly Hallows by 7pm Saturday evening, totaling about 6.5 hours. I approve. Looking forward to my second reading (once I've lent it out in a couple of directions).

[livejournal.com profile] theatreatfirst's C'est Levine! Summer One-Acts Festival is terrific and you should all go next weekend.

Lots of shul stuff going on this week (needless to say)... and then we're going to DC on Thursday morning for the wedding of a friend of Tiger Boy's, Saturday evening. I'll get back Sunday afternoon in time to put on [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul's Tu B'Av Singles Mixer, which comes highly recommended.

I can loan you my printer/scanner and the install disk; I'd have to do too much poking to figure out why the scanner part won't talk to the Mac Mini.

Tuesday would be an excellent day for you to come over and use mine--I'll be out reading from 10:30am until 3pm, but Jason will be here.

You seem deluged with offers, but you could also use mine, if the others don't come through!

I think it'd be simpler for me to borrow time on (a functional) one than to borrow a machine and try to set it up at home... thank you, though!

Thanks a bunch! However, I have a question: what size is the bed on your scanner? I just realized that several of the photos I need to scan are 11x14. They will come down in size of course, but I do need to scan the whole original if possible. I have no idea if anyone will happen to have an 11x17 flatbed in their home office (even those who are bigger print/publishing geeks than I am -- [livejournal.com profile] gilana, e.g., offered hers but it's 9x12). But I may need to hold out for one if I can.

Thank you -- actually, the sticking point is that I just realized some of the photos I need to scan are 11x14. Do you perchance know what size the bed on your scanner is? :-}

p.s. pretty userpic!!

I do have a scanner that can handle 11x14. It's hooked up and should work but it is out in Burlington. let me know. Pygment is mostly home during the day.

Alas, mine is only 8.5x11ish--it'll take A4, but that's the limit.

I'll have to come up with another clever plan for seeing you sometime soon!

Maybe Kinko's can scan the few 11x14 ones for you?

Ooh, ahh. It appears you take the Tech Prize. :-) And Burlington is no problem. I'll ping her about the timing.

Thank you so much!

On second thought: although getting this done today would have been good... being as it *is* (halfway through) a fast day, I'm now thinking that getting on the highway is a less bright idea. :-/ I will email about a convenient timeslot next week.
