A Note on Shadows

He writes to me, "I think you know of Carlos Castaneda. This is plain poetic, but when you read it, think from the minds eye of the camera."

Don Juan pointed directly to a boulder in front of us. "Look at the shadow of that boulder," he said. "The shadow is the boulder, and yet it isn't. To observe the boulder in order to know what the boulder is, is doing, but to observe its shadow is not-doing."

I've got a sore throat.

Skipped out, therefore, on my food pantry shift tonight after work. Came home instead, ate, read, and rested. I've since had a hour's worth of nap, and I'm about to go collect the other 8.

Blech.
