Cake and pie
Wednesday, October 6th, 2004 01:16 amThe first thing I have done in my 33rd year (today, as of midnight, being my 32nd birthday :-) is... bake an apple pie. My first pie. (Did I mention we went apple picking on Sunday? My first time for that too.)
The tradeoff for the homemade pie was a bakery cake, but if I was going to do at least one of them myself, I felt like doing the pie. Given the peck of apples on my kitchen table and so on.
The pie is rather lumpy and messy and possibly either over- or under-baked, I can't tell. But it smells good, and it is two additional things: (a) pareve and (b) done.
The second thing I did in my 33rd year was a whole sinkload of dishes.
ablock was a big help with all these things.
And now, *clunk*. (Think I'm getting up for 6:30am Hoshanah Rabbah services tomorrow morning? Um, sadly, no.)
Moadim l'simcha... chagim u'zmanim l'ugah!
