1. This past weekend I saw two different shows at MIT: [livejournal.com profile] mitgsp's Princess Ida after shul on Friday (basically good, with casting ranging from reasonable to brilliant, but overall it mostly solidified the impression that Ida is among my least favorite G&S shows); and MTG's A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum for its closing show Saturday night (totally charming and tremendously well cast; even though some of the players were less strong vocally than I would have liked, they made up for it with characterization). Yay! Also, they're doing Pinafore and Ruddigore next year, either of which I would be happy to do, so I may (*cough* assuming I am still in town *cough*) actually consider auditioning again.

2. I had a fairly intense and complex dream last night featuring Jonathan Coulton, with me and [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia as groupies -- a central plot point in the dream being the strong real-life resemblance between JoCo and [livejournal.com profile] jonathanjo. Heh.

3. Going with a cadre of [livejournal.com profile] theatreatfirsties to see the Lyric Stage production of Arms and The Man tomorrow night -- it's so nice of them to keep doing our shows after we do them! ;-)

4. My friend Adam From The Menschen has written a stage musical adaptation of Harold and the Purple Crayon which is now being staged at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, NH (Adam's hometown) -- opening this Saturday and running through June 3. There's an article about it in today's Portsmouth Harold Herald. Believe it or not, I've never actually read the book (!), but I helped Adam do some transcription work in preparing the music for this production, and I'm driving a carload up to the opening matinee (11am, thus leaving Somerville at 9:30am).

5. Auditions next week for [livejournal.com profile] theatreatfirst's Summer One-Acts. (Unfortunately, though, I don't think I'm going to try out this time either. Sorry, gang.)

There's probably more, but I am going to go try to get this book chapter finished up... and then maybe get outside while it is still 80 degrees out. :-) Also, contras at MIT again tonight, 8pm!
