ROAD TRIIIIIIP!!

The big day is finally here: we are heading out THIS AFTERNOON on our Epic Cross-Country Roadtrip Honeymoon!
Below the cut is the approximate itinerary (and also with approximate dates on roadtrippers.com):
( 7219 miles in 40 days, give or take! )
... and back home to Merrillville approx. July 1.
(No, we're not leaving the house unattended; there are 3 adults and 2 large dogs still in residence.)
So, LJ: any recommendations along this route for places we must see, visit, eat and sleep? (I'm making lodging reservations ahead for the next several days since it's Memorial Day weekend, but the rest of the trip is pretty wide open.)
