salutazioni da Venezia!
Monday, October 20th, 2008 11:21 am(This entry originally posted friendslocked while we're away, to be made public once we're home.)
We're alive! I'm writing from an internet terminal in Venice, where I stopped along my meandering way from Piazza San Marco across the Rialto and over to the Jewish Quarter. I'm only barely making a dent in catching up on email: sorting through it, but most actual responses are going to have to wait at least a bit.
We had an amazing and action-packed week in France, which I will attempt to detail later, but included the following: Paris (3 days), Avignon, Arles, Les Baux de Provence, l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Roussillon, Mont Ventoux, a few little hill towns in the Dentelles de Montmirail, Vaison-la-Romaine, the Pont du Gard, and one night in Nice before flying on to Venice.
This week, since J. is actually attending a conference in Venice, we're staying in place all week, and I have some downtime to wander around and (by comparison) do very little. Which is all right with me. Mostly, today I intend (after I log out here) to (a) see the Jewish Museum, (b) find out where/when to attend Simchat Torah tomorrow night, and (c) get some laundry done before meeting up for dinner at 7pm.
