Hey, guess what? We're home from our honeymoon! -- No, the pictures aren't yet posted, and neither is any meaningful travelogue. But the brief update I posted from Venice while we were gone is now made public, at least...

Meanwhile, all this week I've been trying to get unburied, workwise, and moderately caught up socially after two weeks out of the country. Hanging out now waiting for [livejournal.com profile] ablock to be done with work and go for belated birthday dinner, so... what better use than to catch up on calendaring? :-)

WED 10/29 I went with [livejournal.com profile] ablock, [livejournal.com profile] muchabstracted, [livejournal.com profile] gedalia and Rachela to see Matisyahu at the Orpheum. I might have enjoyed it if I were in better health (brought home a cold from Venice which I've now been trying to shake for a week). As it was, I left before it was over. But anyway.

THU 10/30: Tonight is opening night of A Man of No Importance with the Vokes Players in Wayland, featuring my friends Tom (no, not [livejournal.com profile] justom, the other one) and Lionel from the Family Opera. It runs Thursdays through Saturdays, October 30 - November 15, all at 8pm, plus 2pm matinees on Saturday November 8th and 15. However, I haven't yet figured out whether there are any performances I can get to (!), so I'm listing it here just as a PSA for now.

FRI 10/31: shul, then dinner with [livejournal.com profile] muchabstracted. Of course, Booty Vortex is also playing Johnny D's (9:45pm), but as last time, I think, I will be feeling too old SICK, okay? SICK! and tired to go, especially on a Friday night. :-}

NOVEMBER:

SAT 11/1, 7:30pm: Tomes of Terror (This is the closing performance. There's also one on Friday.) Unity Church of God, 6 William Street, Somerville. Not sure yet if there are plans for dinner beforehand. Afterwards, though, Day of the Dead fiesta chez [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia. Must decide which mask goes best with black leather pants.

7:30pm: Sadly, I will not be going to see Neil Gaiman in NYC. :-} "The New York Times best-selling author, Neil Gaiman, discusses Sandman, the acclaimed comic book series widely considered to be one of the most original and artistically ambitious series of the modern age. Sandman is a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven." Kaufmann Concert Hall, Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street.
