I would have loved to go to see Monsters vs. Aliens with you on IMAX; I love 3-D animation so much that I *almost* don't care about the plot:) I have dance on Thursdays now, though:(

Oh, whew. :-) Organizing/decrufting has been rather on my mind as a goal for this spring (and even for my couple days of Passover vacation), but I was PRETTY sure I hadn't actually made an appointment with you and then forgotten it!

I didn't realize that HRGSP's show was opening already! (I assume that means they found a bass player, since otherwise I'd have gotten email from them...)

Thanks for that- Mr. Hollender is someone I found very impressive, as an individual, and I'm thrilled that he's being acknowledged in this way. I would never have known about it otherwise- not that I can get there, but just knowing about it gave me a little boost.

Yeah! I used to go to TBI fairly regularly when I lived in Waltham (after graduating from Brandeis), and it was Mr. Hollender who called me for my first aliyah, in 1996. :-) He's remarkable. Me, I was just glad to know he's still alive and well.

I passed along the Yiddish theater info to my mother-in-law, and she asked me to "keep these coming." Do you have a place you get/find such postings that I can send along to her so she can find out about them earlier before her calendar fills up? Hope it's a great month for you!

Date: Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 02:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] chanaleh.livejournal.com
Cool! I assume that by "such postings" you mean Yiddish specifically... but, honestly, no, I don't have a centralized source. I heard about this one initially because the director sent me (on behalf of [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul) the audition notice, but then I didn't have the actual performance info until [livejournal.com profile] la_vie_en_rosie sent it around. There have in fact been a couple other Yiddish theater events in recent months, but again, when I find out about them it's kind of at random, or because they get publicized to TBS.

As far as more reliable resources, I would think the Workmen's Circle might circulate this kind of info?

Yes, the Workmen's Circle does indeed distribute these kinds of notices! If you fill this (http://circleboston.org/about/contact.php) out you can get all sorts of announcements.
