Girly manicure kvelling, or, Hevel hevalim

(Because sometimes often it's the little things in life...)

My nails are all the same length! This is rare because that's usually the signal for them all to start breaking off, one by one. But I had to file them all down this morning because the length was getting unmanageable (I noticed yesterday that, at least on the left index finger, I was typing with the nail because the fingerpad was just not making contact with the key. And that can't be good). So now they all match.

While I'm at Mom's in CA, we're going to go get our nails done together. Fingers *and* toes, I hope. The nominal excuse (mine, that is; Mom goes regularly anyway) is Sierra's wedding the following weekend :-) This is something I always think idly about wanting, and never have the money or time to commit to an appointment; but in this case it's not only self-indulgent, it's a fun mother-daughter activity. Bonus!

So now I'm slathering on the strengthening basecoat, in hopes of sustaining this pleasing uniformity for the intervening 2 weeks.

Yay for girly nails! I keep thinking I should go get a pedicure before I go to North Carolina with mom, except that my feet are such a mess, I'm embarrassed to show them to anyone...

All the more reason to get them tended to! You totally should.

The one time I actually did get myself a pedicure (before some other wedding, probably), I went to Rikki's Day Spa in the Garage in Harvard Square... they did a nice job, although nothing, y'know, mind-blowing.

I´m contemplating getting a pedicure myself... Are they used to seeing nasty feet? Because mine have had to deal with a lot of abuse these past few weeks.

I love getting manicures! I have trouble with pedicures because I'm too short and my feet don't reach the fun little whirlpool that they have. Plus my toe nails are so small, there's not much to paint. But everyone else I know (bigger than me) loves them!

Me too. Roommate K says, her too. It is a world-wide weakness. :) I don't generally wear polish on my nails (fingers or toes) because I keep them so short, but I suppose once in a while wouldn't hurt.

i was somewhat saddened to realize that getting a manicure gives me the SCREAMING HEEBIE-JEEBIES! it was rather unpleasant. people pushing things under my cuticles and removing parts of my skin *twitch*

i wonder if they'd be willing to JUST paint my nails, since i never get it as perfect as i want when i do it. i wonder how much they'd charge for that. probably too much.

(not that i've got much nail to begin with)
