So last night I went with Jonathan to see Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns (a.k.a. the TMBG documentary) at the MFA.

And at this same random screening (Okay, maybe it wasn't *totally* a random choice of screening, since it was the final show of this run. "Quick, catch it before it leaves!" Although the MFA is likely to run it again later this year and the Coolidge Corner Theatre is also supposed to pick it up. But anyway, we at least had reserved tickets weeks ago.) we managed to run randomly into all these people we knew: [livejournal.com profile] roozle, [livejournal.com profile] quietann and [livejournal.com profile] deguspice, [livejournal.com profile] hammercock and [livejournal.com profile] trowa_barton, as well as Paul whose handle would undoubtedly be dr_snark if he were a LJ user. As well as another friend of Jonathan's, Gary the documentary filmmaker. There probably were additional people in the audience that we would have known if we'd seen them, but we didn't.

Add to this that (a) the movie ROCKED and (b) we proceeded from there straight back to my neighborhood in Cambridge to go to a fantastic show at Ryles Jazz Club, headlined by Chris Potter, tenor sax sensation -- who happens to be someone that Jonathan played in high school band with.

Sometimes I am just so damn happy to be living in Boston, where evenings like this can happen.
