chanaleh: It's hard work being bitter (bitter)

I'm posting this from the Student Center, having escaped briefly from cue-to-cue for Ruddigore (being as they haven't yet in fact been able to start the run that was supposed to start at 7:30).

Matthew is of course here.
I am sad. Sad enough that I don't know how to act.
And then I think I sort of snapped at him (or near him?) by mistake, although I'm not sure.
This sucks more than I expected.

A few minutes ago I found his stuff sitting on the side of the auditorium, including a flannel shirt (which I think is even one I gave him), so I picked it up and held it for a while, because it smells like him and I am a big dork.

That is all.

*sigh*. How romantic, in an awful way. hang in there.

Are you saying that there is an actual *production* running 2 hours late? As in a production with an audience?!

*hugs*

I would have done the same exact thing with the shirt. Don't feel guilty.

Good luck with the production! [Or is it, "break a leg?" I know that saying something incorrectly will supposedly give you bad luck, which is the last thing I would want to do...]

No, it's just a rehearsal, since scenery and lights and stuff went in over the weekend (and today, which is one reason things were running late).

Just by coincidence, I ran across an email to my husband from Lyman Opie, saying he was working on the Ruddigore production also. Is he acting or playing?

Looks like he's in the cast. I met him at load-in on Saturday.

Hang in there...you don't have to feel bad about feeling bad, but don't let yourself forget why you decided to be on your own right now either. There must have been a compelling reason. :)

Back to my Hegelian gibberish. How can something that looks like word salad be supposedly so profound?!

Thanks for being there, anyway. You are somehow a calming influence even when you're neither doing anything, nor apparently very calm yourself. And just a little extra calming was very useful to me.

I've approximated similar dopey things, and you know how dopey I'm not.

Lyman is in the cast, he's Sir Rupert Murgatroyd.

It wasn't even a rehearsal. It was supposed to be cue-to-cue, which is only sort of a rehearsal, and was unfortunately not even very much of that.

If my last two neurons hadn't fallen asleep, I'd go to bed.

And just a little extra calming was very useful to me.

I hadn't even thought of it that way. *hug* Good, then.

I only came because [livejournal.com profile] kalessin asked for help... and then I did about three useful things in the entire first three hours, including a highly instructive (because mistake-ridden) job of hanging the ClearCom cable. And fetching pencils when [livejournal.com profile] kalessin didn't have any. :-) I could have tried harder to be useful on set work after that, but by then I was feeling thoroughly mopey, as noted. Ah well, I guess it was all right.

I told you you were a goddess, and I meant it. :) Many of us feel calmer when you're there, even if you think you're not doing anything.

Wurra, wurra.

Remember, they also serve who only stand and wait; do not discount the usefulness of your mere presence. You are a warm, intelligent, *reliable* body. Just knowing that there is such a thing available makes it easier on the harried prodstaff. Even if they don't use you for much. And calming vibes are without price.

And boy, can I ever relate to the sadness. Sigh. That's why I don't want to see or hear from my X for at least the next few months. Sigh.

Hang thee in there.
