Dinner tonight was at the Helmand. I had the seekh kebab, which was not precisely what I think I wanted, as halfway through I had to stop and think hard about whether it was in fact lamb or beef (it was lamb, but salty and grilled, there wasn't that much difference). It was still good, though. But the flatbread that they serve with three kinds of chutneyish things is fantastic. And I had the Turkish coffee afterwards, even though I probably shouldn't have since my sleep schedule is still a bit jetlagged. (Had a beer with Pup and Joelll when I got home, so maybe that will offset it.) And the place is just so lovely and smells so wonderful, and my hair still smells of wood smoke and spices now.
And it was great to see Jessica and Amy, and pick up right where we left off as if it had been only a week instead of months since we were last chatting away. Really great. I need to do this more often.
