Chanukah mid-week review
Sunday, December 12th, 2004 11:56 pmIn the past week I have:
Attended holiday parties at my office, my synagogue, the MIT Arts Scholars Program, and CSAIL, not in that order;
Missed some others I would have liked to attend, but oh well;
Seen my boy for an hour or more a day for five days straight (probably a new milestone);
Seen the inside of Joe Haldeman's bedroom (heh);
Visited the Lord Chancellor's amazing new house, and saw lots of cool people there;
Failed to run into
bethr and
xf once, but succeeded in running into them the following night, at least briefly;
Gone to shul three times (four if you count the Chanukah party; five if you count Wednesday's board meeting);
Eaten latkes at least three times;
Gotten my hair trimmed;
Performed in an a cappella concert, and saw lots of cool people there too;
Dragged
ablock,
kalessin,
greenlily, and
muchabstracted down to Plymouth to see The Golden Dreydl, which I enjoyed a lot (besides the actual performance, there's nothing like a good road trip in fair weather, especially if it includes a glimpse of the ocean and a taste of cranberry wine);
Done a load of laundry and watched not one but two Queer Eye holiday specials chez Pup;
Slept not quite enough (but when do I ever?).
Tomorrow is Monday again. And I have so much work to do at work, I'm literally nervous about it. I wonder what the odds are that my boss would let me take this coming Friday as a random vacation day?
And tomorrow is also Rosh Chodesh, which means -- you guessed it -- morning minyan at 7am. Oy.

Date: Monday, December 13th, 2004 01:41 pm (UTC)Last week we started Chanukah minyans at 6:45 am on account of Hallel and Torah reading... three days in a row of that. And you're complaining about 7! Yeesh! :-P (Fortunately we did not have anyone observing a yahrzeit or any other reason to have minyan today, or else we'd have to start at 6:30 or something...)
