Pre-Arisia thoughts

For good or ill, the thing about commuting to Arisia -- at least, such that I can only spend about half the usual time there and must come and go a couple of times a day -- is that it mostly obviates the concept of "packing for the con". (On the other hand, I'm also not sure if I want to schlep all my button wares around with me the entire time. But they went over so well at Worldcon, maybe I should.)

I went over last night to help with setup, but the bad news is, I never did find any of the people or places I was nominally supposed to be helping out. The good news is, I went to the tech meeting instead; the bad news is, I don't know how much tech help I can be, since I'm not going to be around so much. The good news is, I got home on the early side (12:30am).

And then I got to sleep in until 9:30 with no alarm, and now I am gleefully watching Arthur on PBS over a leisurely breakfast. And then I will go do laundry, and eventually I will figure out my afternoon schedule. Tra-la.

I had planned to do something similar; sleep in, probably stop by the office to make sure that things were stable, and head over to the con once reg opened.

Then the interbuilding link went down, the server room air conditioning died, and my pager and cell phone went nuts. So much for stocking up on sleep beforehand.
