Purim, Purim, Purim lanu...
Monday, March 21st, 2005 05:34 pm0. Happy birthday,
laurens10!
1. Home from Lunacon.
1a. It was low-key, but very pleasant. Even if we never made it into a hot tub (the tub wasn't all that appealing-looking anyway). I worked more tech than I have the past several cons. Which is, actually, a good thing.
1b. When I got home late Sunday night and put on my pajamas, I discovered that they smelled rather startlingly of Hotel. This is presumably from whatever detergent or disinfectant they use on the bedding, and comes of sleeping for two nights curled up on the floor in a nest of bedspreads, scavenged from
ablock and
kalessin. It was surprisingly comfortable, though, all around.
1c. Foodwise, we managed to have a quintessential New Jersey weekend. Teppanyaki with the
n2mlq family at Mt Fuji on Friday night. White Castle and Baskin-Robbins on Saturday afternoon. Diner brunch on Sunday. (Alas, no bagels.) Plus we stopped at IKEA on the way home, but that was in New Haven.
1d. "Bears don't purr."
1d'. But tigers do. At least occasionally.
2. A small gallery of
missmhart's production photos from Talley's Folly are now up!
3. Off to lead an intrepid band of hamantashen-bakers with
tapuz. It's going to be a long night. We had originally talked about doing prep work last night (after I got home from the con!), to streamline things for tonight. But once we scrapped that idea, I admit it was nice not to have to deal with it then. And now, pardon me while I try to work up some enthusiasm for tonight: Marmalade! Poppyseeds!
4. Anyone have an Elvis jumpsuit to lend for a [shortly-after-]Purim costume? (No, not for me.) I do need another costume element that is for me, that I suspect I could find in the
mitgsp stock, but I'm not going to push my luck.
