(Er, Blank Verse what? Quod vide, here and here.)

The week containing April twenty-third
Has come and almost gone -- for here it is
Already Thursday -- and I haven't yet
Composed an entry in iambic lines.
What happened to the posts of yesteryear?
I think the answer is I've been too slammed
With other festival observances.
-- Who scheduled Pesach for so late this year??

Last night I did three loads of laundry, swept
And dusted, cleaned the bathroom, made the bed,
And got a jump on packing up chametz.
Tonight we finish shopping for the seder
(Though 14 pounds of brisket was a start;
And where can I buy Sabra in this town?),
Pick [livejournal.com profile] lonebear up at 9:07 sharp
From Logan, then head back to Porter Square
To store up sushi 'gainst the coming week
When rice and soy will be prohibited.
(Tomorrow night, conversely, after shul,
The plan is for a run to Mary Chung's...
Say 8:15, for those who want to come!)

Maybe Marty's Liquors in Allston or Newton? I remember they always used to have an excellent selection of liqueurs.

I didn't know you wrote iambic verse!
It's no surprise, come think of it right now,
Poetic souls complain about chametz
And plan food trips to Chinese restaurants.

Blank verse is yummy at this time of year
(which I distinguish from the free vers libre
(if that is how you spell the bloody thing
(My Treo has a way to look up words
But I won't use it for another fourteen days
(please pardon the preposterous aside))))

:-)

My dear, I've written iambs by the score
(A single sonnet's more than threescore long!)
-- Lots, anyway, and from a tender age.
I love the heartbeat scansion of the form.

I've heard Cardullo's has that which you seek,
a liqueur blend of orange chocolate bliss.
Or so says LJ user [livejournal.com profile] kelkyag
if I recall the secret to her mousse.
Alas their webpage (cardullos.com)
admits no beverage you might wish to buy.
But calling may reveal a hidden stock
491-8888 is the trick.

Appreciated! Luckily, I found
that Blanchard's (Allston/Brighton) had it too.

I've found Sabra at the liquor store in the Fresh Pond Mall -- the one next door to Bread & Circus/Whole-Foods. (see you tomorrow maybe!)
