Ah, the packing and unpacking...

It seems wrong to feel homesick just because I'm on the wrong side of the same street where I've worked for 6 years. Just because my center of gravity has shifted and everything feels disoriented.

Of course, it doesn't help that it is as chilly inside my new office as outside. (Mid-May simply should not be this overcast and damp, even in New England.) And that even though I do technically now have a window, it consists of glass brick (because it faces the wall of the next building), and for all the light it's yielding today, it might as well not even be that.

Also doesn't help that I didn't get home from Yeomen strike until 2am. But staying late was worth it -- and then, maybe this is also my writ-small version of PPLD [post-production letdown].

On the plus side, I have actually already unloaded all my shiny orange (and black) plastic crates. And I am freshly primed with hot coffee. So I think I shall go and find something nice and grounding to do, like real live Quark work for a change...

i think coffee isn't enough anymore.

the drive home from NY I mainlined coffee(1) and was still obligated to stop a total of 5 times.

2 for 15 minute naps and 3 for returning the mainlined coffee.

(1)10 cups of coffee, chilled, drunk in about 30 minutes.
