Friday: shul, grab takeout from Mary's, then over to the Edgerton TV lounge to watch The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. Not that brilliant, as Muppet productions go, but I enjoyed it. But then the minute it was over, while everyone else hung around playing ping-pong and air hockey, I fell sound asleep right in front of the giant television -- for a solid hour and a half, during which time Tiger Boy (who had, after all, reserved the lounge for the evening) chased away a couple of people who came in hoping to use the TV. What a love. :-) And [livejournal.com profile] ablock very sweetly dropped us off at my place thereafter.

Saturday: shul. Impromptu shopping run to Salem, NH, where [livejournal.com profile] ablock got a new iBook, I got Green Pants of Doom (on sale), and [livejournal.com profile] ablock got a Beanbag of Doom, at which time we thought it prudent to flee before the consumption of doom got any worse. :-) Dinner with my homeboys ([livejournal.com profile] ablock and [livejournal.com profile] kalessin) at El Guapo, which is definitely worth patronizing. Then off to the most righteous and excellent Stackwarming chez [livejournal.com profile] mangosteen and [livejournal.com profile] bookteacher.

Sunday I slept until nearly 10, puttered around the house; bought a whole lot of kosher meat for the Lag B'Omer BBQ (see below); made a batch of special-order buttons for the Other Other Erica -- whom I finally met at contra dancing last week, but that's another story. Watched all my back episodes of ER and Numb3rs, took a nap; proceeded to have a minor emotional freakout which persisted through Menschen rehearsal, but was later assuaged with the help of a couple of people's love and patience, for which I am grateful.

Anyone who wants:
  • a free 3-month trial subscription to the Jewish Advocate, e-mail me your complete snail-mail address, preferably today.
  • to come to [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul's Lag B'Omer BBQ this Thursday night [and isn't going to be lining up for Serenity starting at 8pm!], e-mail me your RSVP, preferably by tomorrow.
  • to come to Israel with us August 14-24, e-mail me your information, preferably ASAP so you can get the itinerary and airfare info when we update it this week.
  • to hear Dr. [livejournal.com profile] mangosteen (and [livejournal.com profile] ladypsyche, and me) sing a cappella, mark your calendars for Honorable Menschen's spring concert: Sunday, June 12 at 1pm!

Finally, speaking of kick-ass vocal performances, Sean Altman (formerly of Rockapella) is doing a Live Internet Broadcast solo concert today at 3pm: http://www.evolvingartist.com/

And now, to put some lunch in my lunch hour.

Actually, mine are the rather less terrifying shade of what appears to be called Key Lime:
But I couldn't figure out whether they had an actual picture of those!

AH I wish I could afford to go to Israel. It's just not in the budget even though I"m not in school at that time. Ah well.

What if I want to see Serenity? :-)

(is this lining up to get last minute tickets or decent seats?)
(and yes, I am being way lazy.)

This would be lining up for seats. Tix sold out within an hour or so of going on sale.

No chance you recorded the stream? I've been a fan of his since the early days, and I've seen him at Club Passim and Foxrun, and he puts on a _fantastic_ show. Have his CDs for anyone reading this that would like to hear them.

Sadly, no. :-/ In fact, I didn't even get a chance to tune in (being at work and all, and no headphones), so I can't even tell you how great it was...
