(including Monday, 'cause my weekend updates always do)

Friday: [livejournal.com profile] jessruth arrived, picked me up from work, and came to the 20s & 30s Shabbat dinner at shul along with me, [livejournal.com profile] mattrolls, [livejournal.com profile] ablock, and [livejournal.com profile] kalessin. Smashing time had by all. Back to my house afterwards to play Animal Crossing ([livejournal.com profile] kalessin has now been assimilated, bwahaha) until Way Too Late.

Saturday: Got up early (like 7:45am) to learn my Torah portion; fortunately I nailed it in the actual reading. Had begged off that afternoon's Utopia rehearsal due to [livejournal.com profile] jessruth's visit, so left shul early to (make lentil stew and) hang out at home with her and [livejournal.com profile] kalessin, who took us to the Hot Foods Party around 4pm. [livejournal.com profile] mattrolls showed up later after he got out of rehearsal, and [livejournal.com profile] ablock showed up MUCH later than intended since work was being evil. Smashing time had by all. My highlights: Spicy Brownies, Chocolate Cayenne Truffles, and HabaƱero Shortbread; [livejournal.com profile] quietann's froggie toe socks; winning at Apples to Apples, and being introduced to Nanofictionary by [livejournal.com profile] xiphias; brief but pleasing chats with [livejournal.com profile] gosling and my college pal Jesse and [livejournal.com profile] eeblet and sao [livejournal.com profile] hauntmeister and [livejournal.com profile] baronet and dr_snark [I was close, that's [livejournal.com profile] drsnark. -- Ed.] and [livejournal.com profile] marmota and, of course, [livejournal.com profile] sunspiral, not necessarily in that order. And a few blissful minutes here and there of indulging my mad crush on [livejournal.com profile] hotpoint. ;-) Crawled home around 2:30 am. Yay.

Sunday: A couple games of Scrabble (I lost to Jess, then she lost to Joel). Jazz brunch at Ryles where we ran into [livejournal.com profile] charliegrrrl and [livejournal.com profile] actualhuman. More Animal Crossing. [livejournal.com profile] jessruth got a ride back to NYC late in the afternoon. [livejournal.com profile] mattrolls took a nap. And then I went off to my women's tefilah group (sort of a monthly study group), which also was nice. I even managed to do the reading: we're starting David Hartman's A Heart of Many Rooms.

Monday: somewhat productive day at work, lunch with [livejournal.com profile] navrins, and evening spent with same -- after I did my taxes. Last year I ended up owing almost $1,000 due to freelance work. This year I ramped up my withholding (and also, as it happened, had less freelance income), and as a result I owe only $26. Whew! The state of MA, by contrast, owes me a whopping $2 (that's two whole dollars). I was Telefiling, or I'd have told them to just put it to the AIDS fund. But I'm relieved to have it all figured out.

Thanks (I guess :-) I do feel very lucky to have such a wealth of friends and activities in my everyday life. But this weekend was more so than most.

I'm glad you liked the truffles. I'd never made them before.

What, pray tell, is Nanofictionary? :)

my mad crush on hotpoint

Is there anyone in our crowd who doesn't have (or hasn't had) that crush? It's kinda like having a crush on [livejournal.com profile] xiphias. ;)
It was good to see you Saturday. I'm sorry I didn't witness your win, but you were well on the way there. :)

Ooh! It's a ultra-short-story-writing (or -telling) game. You'd probably dig it. We only played one round, so I didn't quite get the hang of doing it well, but I think I could with more practice.

hee... yep, I got that one *waves to [livejournal.com profile] xiphias* out of the way early. (Er, 10+ years ago?! Where has the time gone?)

Well, I don't know who hotpoint is, but it seems improbable that chanaleh and I would have a crush on the same person....

I don't think I could maintain that many social relationships. I'm just not built that way. A few good friends (including some cuddleability) and a social circle or two is about my social limit.

Yes, this looks like a game I should get acquainted with. Sort of like Once Upon a Time, only different.

I keep forgetting who hotpoint is (that is, which real person does that LJ name correspond to), but I don't think I've had a crush on him :)
