I almost forgot -- my friend Mel has two extra tickets to WFNX's sold-out Boston Music Poll show featuring the Dresden Dolls! Does anyone need them? $22 for the pair or $13 each.

Hi there..

I wanted to ask you this in a more private setting so I picked your LJ to comment instead of the community. I was wondering about your shul in Cambridge, I am considering joining you all for the 9pm to 5am during Shavuot. Only issue is that I'm Deaf and I don't know how it would work, how I could join you with the discussions. Just wondering if you had any ideas since it's my first time with Shavuot.

I guess maybe I could try for a bit and see how it goes.

Hi! Goodness, I don't know either. I don't know what accommodations would be most helpful for you; there aren't currently any plans for (say) sign interpretation, but I can ask them to look into the possibilities. I'll e-mail the program director and get back to you.

You are of course welcome to come check it out :-)

Hi there :-)

Oh no, I wasn't expecting to have interpreters.. I meant something more like maybe paper handouts with text commentaries that maybe the people who are leading the discussion would have, so we could point at a line and then discuss? Or maybe someone could sit next to me and then if I don't understand, to have them tell me again a brief summary of what was said?

I honestly don't think I can lipread throughout the entire night! So I'm not sure how long I'm staying :-)

Understood! I asked Gedalia (who's helping coordinate the learning) and he said that several of the teachers *will* supply handouts with their texts, although not everyone.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] sirleebutler says he has a little ASL and, though not competent to interpret thoroughly, could certainly sit with you and help keep you tuned in. Which I'm sure others will be happy to do, as well.

I'll probably be there from 9 to midnight or so, myself.

Can you e-mail me (chanaleh @ livejournal) your actual name and contact info? :-)

um, the tickets for lansdowne street are $10 and are NOT yet sold out -- you can still buy $10 tickets at the door to see all those bands.

it's only the boston harbor pavillion tickets that are sold out...
