Nope, not going to [livejournal.com profile] baitcon. (My Encore game is, though, with [livejournal.com profile] maedbh7. :-) Everyone enjoy in my absence.

Shul tonight, shul tomorrow. Home tonight to putter, learn my leyning, and hopefully cook some dinner; [livejournal.com profile] ablock has two of the Rutgers crew in town, so my usual post-shul dinner plans do not apply.

Tomorrow night: Muppety goodness! The Brattle Theatre is running a double feature this month of Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal -- the latter screening including "rare Henson shorts". Eeee! (Of course, this had to be just AFTER Tiger Boy left the country, but whatever. I promised to take good notes.) I haven't bought advance tickets, though could possibly be convinced to do so, if people want to join me for either or both. Screenings are $9 apiece. My plan is for 7:30PM Labyrinth and 9:45PM Dark Crystal. (EDIT: Except for [livejournal.com profile] mrieser's farewell party! which may mean I should go to the LATE Labyrinth, 11:55PM, if I go at all... The Dark Crystal is the one I really specially mean to see, though.)

Sunday: Taking the [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul crowd to see the PawSox play the Syracuse SkyChiefs! We still have a good dozen tickets available ($9), so if anyone wants to join us, I'm throwing it open to the general public. (Hell, if you're willing to drive in the carpool, I'll GIVE you a ticket.) Game's at 1:05pm, so meet us at the shul at 11am sharp for carpooling -- or you can even (like [livejournal.com profile] kalessin) meet us at McCoy Stadium at about 12:30pm. Current forecast is a balmy 76 degrees and partly cloudy.

I still have to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but it doesn't look like that will happen this weekend, huh?

But first, to finish these book corrections and write three mission-critical work e-mails.

Still not king. (YET!)
Gotta call my dad. And stuff.

I am exceedingly envious of you for being able to go to the Henson double feature. I wish that I was in the area or that some theatre in the DC area would do things like that.

DUDE! I didn't even know about the Henson stuff. Don't tell Tony; we won't have the dough to go see it. And he owns both on DVD anyway.

You're gonna be in Rhode Island and I'm not here -- waah! You shoulda let me know you guys were coming down! I really want to get to a PawSox game this summer.

We are planning on spending a shabbat in Cambridge with a friend on Aug 19-20. Will you be around?

Alas! and, alas -- that's the Shabbat I'll be in Jerusalem. :-} Leaving on Sunday the 14th (the tail end of Tisha B'av), returning midafternoon Friday the 26th. Bummer, man. We ought to coordinate better in advance.

Seems none of you guys will be there... this was kind of a fluke that I could do it; this summer, while my rabbi's been in Israel, I've been manning the fort at my shul, so between that and travel we haven't gotten up there that often. Oh well. Enjoy Jerusalem!

"rare Henson shorts"

That being bolded my eye fell upon it first without context; I was thus initially disturbed by visions of displaying and auctioning off JH's clothing...

I love Labrynth!

I also wish I didn't work weekends, or I'd be all over the PawSox
