Last month, on the encouragement of certain dear friends from shul, I auditioned for the North Cambridge Family Opera's 2006 production, Antiphony.

David Bass left me voicemail Sunday night. I finally got through to him just now, and they offered me the part of the Worker Queen. Rah!

Okay, it's no Space Opera, but it should be fun. :-) Hey, [livejournal.com profile] red_queen, are you gonna do makeup??

That is awesome! I never even knew that opera company existed. A buggy opera -- how cool! Let us know how things progress. There will be a band of Firsties there, for certain. :-)

Cool! Please post about the performance date and times and ticket sales and whatnot!

Space Opera was excellent (watching, not being in), and I bet that by
spring '06, it being a family opera and all, we can probably get away
with going to see it and bringing [livejournal.com profile] gljiva with us.

(when we saw Space Opera last spring we decided that we need to audition
for the chorus and let her audition for the fun kid parts when she is
old enough to participate. woo hoo for singing kids starting early!

Nifty!

I learned of NCFO through Jesse, he's participated in it, and David Bass actually volunteered for our campaign on election day. We even had a way to mark NCFO people in our voter file.

Neat! My college singing group sang a David Bass arrangement of "Man Come Into Egypt" from the late '70s.
