Was good con. But more low-key somehow than most of my con experiences thus far.

This was partly because I was emphatically Not Working (paid my own membership and everything). And also because I hardly went to any parties (though I do wish I'd managed to stop by the notorious Rocket Fuel party Sat nite, even after I fell asleep at the tech party). And probably because, for the most part, rather than engaging in lots of con interaction, what I was doing was hanging out with existing non-con-staff pals ([livejournal.com profile] mattrolls and [livejournal.com profile] jessruth, with brief bouts of Jon and Jesse, whom I don't see nearly often enough anyway either) . This was also good, but still. I didn't even make it into the Art Show, and that's saying something.

On the other hand, I did actually attend two whole panels this con, and that's also a first! In fact they were back to back, on Saturday afternoon; naturally, they were [livejournal.com profile] gnomi's LJ/blogging panel, and then the advanced poly panel (I missed the intro poly section Friday night, but I probably didn't need it all that much, anyway :-) Both were engaging and provided food for thought (and hopefully for future journal exploration). [livejournal.com profile] mattrolls came with me to the first, but not the second -- and then I actually wished that he had, because I'm certain there would have been food for thought for him as well. Goodness knows [livejournal.com profile] jessruth was struck by more than her share of personal insights just from listening to the discussions.

But so anyway, I think that if I do go to Lunacon, I may go back to working Tech, and thus be assured more quality running-around time with [livejournal.com profile] ablock and [livejournal.com profile] kalessin and other fun folks :-)

NON-con staff? I do recall walking around with a staff badge all weekend... ;) But seriously, I'm sure you meant the more tech-oriented staff. All is forgiven =)

So if you're going to be working at Lunacon, should I look into similar opportunities myself?

As for the aforementioned personal insights I experienced, I suppose those insights warrant further exploration on my own LJ.

Off to it, then.

Oh yeah, duh -- of course you were also on staff. :-} But all your work hours fell while I was busy sleeping... so it didn't seem the same somehow!

As to working Lunacon -- yikes, make that [livejournal.com profile] lunacon, and also bearing in mind that technically Lunacon would be your "home" con, you New Yorker, you... well, they don't seem to have babysitting shifts available, but I'm sure you could get put to work some other way. Or not, if you didn't want to. Even when I'm "working," it tends to be in a pretty flexible way.

Ahhh, you read my mind - phooey, Lunacon actually hires people to babysit - I checked =) What's up with that?

Anyway, I'm sure I could find some way to make myself useful...hey, as long as I get to see you, I'm a happy girl. Awwww.......

I wanted to go to the LJ/blogging panel, but I missed it because something was happening at the time I really didn't want to leave. Oh well. What was it like?

I went to both poly panels, and I thought the poly 101 was a better panel, not because of the panelists, but because of the people there and the questions they raised. It was a much more full room, that may have had something to do with it. (and if there's anyone who doesn't "need" poly 101, it's me :). I was especially impressed with [livejournal.com profile] miss_chance as a panelist at both of them, and I hope she does it again next year. Actually, I think I want to do it next year too.

If you were Emphatically Not Working, how were you at the tech party? Or does working tech somehow not count?

Simple -- I got invited to the tech party on sheer force of charisma. >:-)
