chanaleh: It's hard work being bitter (bitter)

Two-day pattern seems to be: fever down in the morning, creeps up by one degree every few hours. Was at 102.5 by bedtime last night, closer to 99 first thing this morning (but I still blew off my Torah reading... *sigh*). Currently back to 101. Blah.

Yesterday I felt too ill to be bored as long as I could lie mercifully still. Have now reached the point of being restless (neither bed nor couch is comfortable anymore) but still too low-energy to do anything. Blah.

At least the stomach upset has mostly passed. But I still have little appetite, so not even food as a distraction. Blah.

Should drink some more, though. Maybe I can manage a shower and then another nap.

Yuk.. Feel better soon.
You are likely dehydrated and you'll probably feel better quicker if you drink more clear liquid. Weak tea, flat ginger ale, chicken broth, ginger tea. (The advantage to drinking ginger ale is it gets a little sugar into your system.)
Then add in a few saltine crackers or some plain white rice. Go easy, start bland so you don't upset your stomach that has had nothing in it for the last couple days.

My sympathies. I seem to have gotten the "easy" version without a noticeable fever and over in about 24 hours.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

If you've been meaningfully over 100 for two days (i.e. those 101 and 102 temps) then you really ought to see your PCP. That's really not a common cold anymore and might need something strong medication wise.
But I really hope you get well soon.

I know you know this, but if you still feel bleh on Monday you should go to the doctor. Or call them, anyhow.

That is usual for fevers. Lower in the morning, higher in the evening.

I hope you're well soon!

feel better!

Hope you feel better! I hope the lower-in-the-morning, higher-in-the-evening thing. That's what always keeps me from going to the doctor. I wake up and take my temperature and think, 'oh, maybe I'm getting better.' But no.

*hugs*

My understanding is that body temperature generally rises over the course of the day, then drops while you are sleeping. So it is not surprising you would wake up with a temperature as low as 99 and still feel sick: the 99 is misleadingly low. If you were well, you might wake up and find your temperature is, I dunno, 96.
