It's 2007!

New Year's Eve festivities were curtailed somewhat by my having a lousy cold. It's improving now, though. Apologies to those whose gatherings I missed ([livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt et al., [livejournal.com profile] sweetmmeblue and [livejournal.com profile] drwex, and [livejournal.com profile] dpolicar). Nor did we get out to First Night at all, as we have the past two years. But thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kalliejenn2 and [livejournal.com profile] gilana for giving us somewhere more festive to be at midnight than curled up on the couch watching The Electric Company... as much fun as that was, also. :-)

Principal highlights of 2006 included:
  • Buying a car
  • Moving to Somerville in with Tiger Boy
  • Being in The Margaret Ghost
  • Making CD-recording progress with Honorable Menschen
  • Working a whole lot at my challenging, fulfilling, if occasionally crazy-making new job

  • I think that pretty much covers the basics. Otherwise, life goes on much the same (lots of social things, lots of shul things), even when I don't have time to LJ it. :-} I may have some things to say about goals and aspirations for 2007... but not tonight.

PS[A]: Somerville has a new Ethiopian restaurant! Fasika (a.k.a. "Ethipuppian"), formerly of JP, has reopened at 145 Broadway, Somerville.
EDIT: Yes, I see that http://www.fasikarestaurant.com/ really is giving a password dialog every time you try to access it -- even Google's cached copy! In his inimitable fashion, though, [livejournal.com profile] ablock immediately called them up to notify them, so hopefully the link will work again in future. >:-) Meanwhile -- yes, we actually went over Xmas while [livejournal.com profile] jessruth and [livejournal.com profile] yaddie728 were here. Despite the shoehorned-into-a-sports-bar structure of the new digs, the food is indeed as good as previously. Hopefully as they get settled in (and we all start going there more often), they'll gradually be able to recreate the proper atmosphere.

Huh. The Fasika link wants a password to authorize me to view anything. Weird.

Hope you're feeling better. Add me to the evidently long list of those whose New Year's Eve plans were kiboshed by a cold! Y. and I were gonna go to the concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, but both I and one half of the other couple with whome we had plans were felled by the ick. I actually missed my first day back at fieldwork today because I was still feeling lousy.

So far 2007 is not looking up in the health department :( Here's hopin'!

I was sorry to hear about the cold. Glad festivities were festive anyway.

*cheers mightily* Addis Red Sea is just too irritating to get to.

What they said. Must check out the new restaurant. I sense a dinner mob in the future...
