Anyone want to go see Donizetti's L'Elisir D'Amore at the Boston Conservatory Theater (5 minute walk from the Hynes T/bus stop), tomorrow (Thursday) night at 8pm? I've never seen it and would like to. Tickets are $16.

Good things (near-past to near-future): Helped strike Arms and the Man (and subsequently partied with [livejournal.com profile] theatreatfirst; I am pleased to say that, yes, both of these pursuits involved arms as well as men). The glorious Big Fat Geek Wedding of [livejournal.com profile] hammercock and [livejournal.com profile] trowa_barton. First seder at [livejournal.com profile] toyb's (15 people). Second seder at [livejournal.com profile] tremontstshul (81 people). Having the luxury of going to shul both Day 1 and 2 of Pesach (ganz Hallel, Tal, and Birkat Kohanim: a liturgical hat trick!) and not even having to cover any Torah reading. Getting to see Mr. and Mrs. [livejournal.com profile] hatam_soferet. Omelets at the Deluxe Town Diner with a friend from the Family Opera, with whom I'd basically lost touch after Antiphony but caught up again when I went to see Kids' Court. Interest expressed in going contra dancing at MIT, which ranks high on my list of things I fail to do often enough.

Although I don't change over my dishes for Pesach (I sell/lock up my chametz, but I go pesadik-by-ingredient), what I *did* accomplish the week before was to finally get my meat dishes out and washed and in use. I've been meaning to do this since we moved last July, and words cannot express how happy it makes me. Among other things, it means that we are now fully equipped to enjoy the several pounds of (fleishig) seder leftovers in our fridge. Also, I am currently eating chopped liver on matzah, which I must say beats out peanut butter any week of the year. ;-)

Only three weeks until Neil Gaiman et al. in NYC!

And, despite the disgusting snow/sleet/muck outside (insert obligatory comment about schizophrenic New England weather here), Tiger Boy is on his way home to join me for dinner, so I had best go fire up the microwave. :-)

Moadim l'simcha, y'all.

Alas, I cannot go, but I hope you enjoy the opera. :D

Is it good or bad that you haven't gone to California? I *just* had dinner at the Deluxe Town Diner this evening! How cool! (I love their pancakes, and their curry turkey burger ROCKS).

Seders rock, too. I love listening to the stories, talking about what they mean and getting all the good dirt on the old arguments. I got to be the wicked child! (hee!)

The opera sounds wonderful but I have plans. :( Still, it's one of the few I've seen at the Met and enjoyed (lo those many years ago).

If I wasn't doing a Maundy Thursday service at my church tonight? Sure. Hope you have a good time, though.
