Since I can't do any more on miraclaire's ketubah until I get the Hebrew text :-) and my page proofs for queue are off with the author... I spent this afternoon working up my next art piece.

This text is a "meditation" that comes after the Amidah in the prayer service. Having pondered the rhythms in this text (which are one of the aspects that make it 'meditative' for me) for a long time, I came up with this mandala-style arrangement. The outermost ring is the English translation.

And with that, I have only a handful of responsibilities left for today: (1) go to the library before they close, (2) mail the bills, (3) make dinner, (4) pack for my trip to Chicago tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm reading The Dark Is Rising and going to bed early. Yay.

That's beautiful. I love how you dealt with lining up the right-to-left of the Hebrew with the right-to-left of the transliteration -- works naturally with the circular design.

I can't wait to see the ketubah. The chuppah is almost done!

Very very purty! I'm really not sure why, but I'd consider getting one too, if you were to make prints, just 'cause it's so gorgeous and all. Actually I might get one for my sister too... :)

Hey, I keep thinking back to this comment and failing to respond, but: I have a friend who works at KolBo too, wonder if it's the same friend?

I happened to be in there the other day and she was working, so I asked her how to get considered, and she gave me the name of the art buyer to contact, so I sent off an e-mail. :-} We'll have to see!
