Today I met the boy I'm gonna marry

Three years ago, that is... as of yesterday, when it became official.
We actually picked out the ring last weekend, while in Virginia, but then I had to wait (!) until the formal proposal.
We went up to Gloucester and Rockport for the day, and went out onto the rocks on the harbor, at the end of Bearskin Neck.
We have not set a specific date -- could still be anywhere from April to October 2008. After looking at the calendar last night, though, we're tentatively thinking Labor Day weekend (also Rosh Chodesh Elul), which would be Sunday, August 31, 2008. Updates to come.
I expect this will continue to feel incredibly surreal for at least the next several days. :-)

Date: Monday, August 6th, 2007 09:45 pm (UTC)And, it now turns out that TigerMom wants to hold an engagement party for us in VA sometime this fall... so we're looking tentatively at Columbus Day weekend (also my birthday) for that, and we'd take the opportunity to spend a day at the Maryland Renaissance Festival while there. :-) I'm hoping to get to invite some friends to one or both; I'll definitely keep you posted!
