And gosh, is it beautiful out for DECEMBER. Hmm. (Also, it was a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with festive dinners, loving company, theater-tech geekery, some nice downtime and some reasonable productivity. But -- onward!)

Upcoming theater rundown: It doesn't look much like I'm getting to the ASP's much-vaunted Merchant of Venice, since we didn't get there this weekend and it closes next weekend. (Unless I try to go Thursday while Tiger Boy and [livejournal.com profile] muchabstracted are seeing Aurelia's Oratorio at the ART? But it's kinda looking like I will desperately need to do website work, if not laundry, this Thursday night. Sigh.) There's also the Central Square Theater's double-header of Einstein's Dreams ("the wry, wild, funny and surprisingly moving adaptation of Alan Lightman's bestselling novel"; remaining shows Dec. 11-14) and Alice's Adventures Underground ("an award-winning adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic Alice books, featuring outrageous puppets, sets of hand-painted silk and performances by an intergenerational ensemble of actors"; running Dec. 4-7 and 18-28). Tiger Boy expressed more interest in the latter than the former (puppets!), but we have yet to look seriously at available calendar slots anyway. Gah. Anyway, lastly there's [livejournal.com profile] mitgsp's Pirates for which I helped hang lights this past weekend, opening this coming Friday.

i can't vouch for einstein's dreams, but wes savick -- my theatre directing prof and a friendly acquaintence -- wrote and directed it, and he's very good at what he does. on the other hand, the production of alice that i saw a few years ago was wildly underwhelming. YMMV, but i bet einstein's will be fantastic.

I saw einstein's dreams last year at the cambridge science festival and didn't like it- not much of a plot; we fell asleep.

it's very abstract....so if you like that sort of thing, it'll be good.

Einstein's Dreams is one of my favorite books of all time. I wish I could maker it up there to see it, but that's not happening. You'll have to post a review.
