You *know* it is humid when MY hair gets frizzy.

In related news, that lightning storm at 3:15am was a thing of awesomeness to behold... except for the part where I would rather have been, y'know, *sleeping* during that time.

...I was kind of freakishly happy to be woken up by it, even though sleep is awesome, because man, I love thunderstorms and I saw this quite scary-but-amazing lightning bolt and...yay?

(My hair does not ever get frizzy, for which I am v. grateful.)

I would like to see pictures of that.
As for the thunderstorm, it interfered with a dream I had.
(A housemate was leaving the house, and all of a sudden a bomb went off, killing him outside. I woke up to hearing the thunder making the same sound.)

FYI, there are extant pictures of me from college with permed hair. (I permed it all through high school and college, actually. Then at some point I decided I might as well learn to enjoy the hair I actually *have*, rather than the hair I might *wish* to have.)

So yes, I know the behavior my hair was exhibiting this weekend barely qualifies as "fluffy" by most people's standards, but for me, it was noticeable!

That was an amazing storm! It shook the whole house. There was one bolt of lightning that made me want to get up and go look that the big tree in the backyard was still standing.

Woke me up too. And of course my hair is a disaster. And of course I can't put any product in my hair because of my chorus' no scented products during concerts policy.

Grumble. I am about to take my second shower of the day.

Yeah, it was was pretty amazing last night. I was extremely surprised the kids slept through it, since it totally woke me up.

The whole family is even more frizzy than usual today :-)

But how do I know when your hair has gotten frizzy?

It's been humid here most of the time lately and my hair just never STOPS being frizzy now. This will probably remain the case till October.

Yeah, it would have been much more awesome if I hadn't also woken at 2, 4, and 6. (Ah, the wonders of teething.)

I'd have loved to have the t-storm. You're free to send them up here, regardless of the hour.

So, it turns that our puppy is really freaked out by thunder. Barking his fool head off freaked out, in fact, unless I'm at least half-awake to say reassuring things. I have a new-found loathing of wee hours thunderstorms.
