Quark woes

I have to reinstall QuarkXPress (it has decided it does not like the Find/Change or Character dialog boxes, and crashes my machine hard whenever I invoke them).
Before I attempt this (I've actually been putting it off for months), I am trying to clean off and back up as much of my hard drive as possible, JUST to make sure. So right now I am copying backups of all my active Work files over to the Production Archive server that the IT people thoughtfully maintain for me.
Size = 8 GB.
Time = about 54 minutes remaining.
I know these things take time, but... oy! Maybe I'd better head over to lunch early. Oh yeah, and I also need to buy some graduation/Mother's Day/birthday cards. Guess I could do that on the way to K^2.
