Dear friends, I have so very much I would like to write about these days, and no time or energy to do it. My grand plan of using train time to compose journal entries on my phone has been pretty much sabotaged by the ongoing issues with my hands (oh yeah, more on that later too); I can thumb-type successfully for a while, but holding my hands up in the requisite position makes the numbness and tingling worse. So, yuck. But right now I am waiting for some files to copy, and nothing else will function until I finish freeing up some disk space, so I will finish this draft I started earlier. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] etrace and I went to Arisia and had a good time. Besides being his very first con, the weekend was part romantic getaway (as we have to make of all our visits; we came up Thursday night to be sure to have a quiet night to ourselves), part wedding-details mission (license retrieved! cake ordered!), and a full-time MuffinButtons vending experience. So during the con proper, we spent very little of our available downtime actually socializing, and more of it hiding out in our room and going to bed early. Which, in my old age, I think is also a pretty great kind of con to have; I came away *more* rested than I've been in weeks.

On the other hand, we didn't go to a single panel (par for the course for me, but I would have liked for [livejournal.com profile] etrace to get to at least something), or dance, or concert -- I had absolutely no idea that ELH had performed until I saw it in someone else's conrep! "Dammit, I knew there was a reason I'd kept meaning to read over the Program Guide!" And we even missed the Masquerade, although that was because we had ordered in takeout for dinner and that sandwich was far and away the best thing I ate all weekend, so I can't really complain there. :-)

In fact we only showed up to one party all weekend, on Sunday night -- and then the majority of the people I actually wanted to see there promptly trooped out en masse about 10 minutes after we came in, and never came back again. Ah well. So we eventually gave up and went back down to tend to Important Family Business. Can't complain there either!!

Next weekend (Jan. 31-Feb. 2) I am going to IN for the very last "visit". It will be EMom's 80th birthday and he's planning a family reunion/birthday party for her, with (God willing) all her grandkids and great-grandkids in attendance. But then he will return with me to NYC on Sunday night and be here, HERE!, with me, for the duration. Which is to say, for another 2 months until he can take me home.

And also the wedding is three weeks from today. OMG.
