Oh My God I Won!

MIT has this program wherein every department gets an annual Rewards & Recognition stipend to distribute among those deemed deserving by their peers.

We had this year's awards presentation for the Press this afternoon, and I won one! More specifically, I won one of the BIG awards -- the Exceptional Contribution category. (I won one a couple years ago in one of the smaller categories, the "Angel" award. Then last year I sat on the awards committee, so I was ineligible anyway. But this...!)

I am totally floored. OMG! OMG!

Wonder if this means I can go home early? :-) And pack for tomorrow's departure? Great news to bring home to Mom, anyway.

yayayayayayay for chanaleh! they need to recognize you as 'employee of the millenium' and give you the million dollar prize so you an retire. :-)

But if they did that, she'd retire, and then they wouldn't have their Exceptional Contributor anymore. They don't want that!

Still, it's a nice thought...
