Actually, I always enjoy YK (fasting discomfort aside), so it could be worse. Some years I get Simchat Torah instead, though, and that's of course more the proper mode for celebrating a birthday. A worthwhile trade. And at least I'm not in the April birthday cycle with its high probability of Pesach "cake" 8-)

well, my sister was born on yom kippur. she gets this every year. just imagine. (and i was born on tisha b'av and my brother was born on 17th of Tammuz. seriously. although i do have a brother born on yom h'atzmaut and a sister born on yom yerushalayim, so it's not all bad.)
