chanaleh: It's hard work being bitter (bitter)
[personal profile] chanaleh
Last night: Talked to Matthew for an hour. Cried. Talked to Jonathan for 15 minutes. Went on crying for another hour. Finally got to sleep ~12:45am.

This morning: Got up early (~6:45am) to go to therapy and cry for yet another hour. I have coined the phrase "emotional root canal".

Then went to work. Someone in my office saw me ~11:30am and said, "Rough night last night, huh?" Damned puffy eyes... She added sympathetically that the same thing happens to her whenever *she* cries.

And all this was before I even saw any election results. Feh.

On the plus side, however, my landlord is supposedly re-flooring and re-ceiling my kitchen today (for which I had to move absolutely everything out of it yesterday evening; seeing it empty was *weird*). I really hope everything's going OK, as I won't be home to see it until ~10pm after rehearsal tonight.

Hey, the kitchen is great!

I was a little wary since the crazy building manager lady (this 70+-year-old little Irish woman, the landlord's cousin or sister-in-law or something) told me *she* and one of the upstairs tenants were going to be doing the job themselves. Last time she "fixed" my kitchen ceiling, a good five years ago, the repairs consisted of *taping up* the sagging/water-damaged tiles and painting over them. (Not coincidentally, this was the last time I bothered calling her to fix *anything* in the house. Except for the time the toilet tank exploded, but that's another story.)

But I got home last night and it looks great! All-new ceiling (some sort of stucco-looking thing), all-new flooring (the stick-on linoleum squares). They had left things a bit dusty, but I spent half an hour or so scrubbing down the kitchen before I put everything back into it, 'cause it needed it anyway. Woo!

Oh, sure, now that we're not neighbors anymore, *now* you wanna stop by? ;-)

I would have loved to have stopped by before. :-)

I didn't know we were neighbors, actually. However, it's not a long drive...

You didn't know? That's why you used to see me in the Bread & Circus once in a while.

(What is? Your desire to come over and check out my kitchen renovations? ;-) Well, fair enough.
