TBS Community Passover Seder (2nd Night)
Tuesday, April 6
6:00 pm services (upstairs) / 6:30 pm seder (downstairs)

This year at Tremont Street we are happy to continue the tradition of holding a second-night Community Seder at the shul. One of last year's attendees called it the "most engaging Judaism" they had ever experienced.

Led by TBS member Avi Weiss (recently engaged, mazal tov!)
Fed by TBS member Barbara Model (fleishigs! with ample vegetarian options)
Cost (reduced from last year!): TBS members $40, Non-members $50, Full-time students $25.

All are welcome to join us! RSVP by Monday, March 29 by calling the shul office (617-864-6388), or submit your paid reservation online at http://www2.tremontstreetshul.org/seder.html.

Not that I'm going this year, but why is it so expensive? $40 for a dinner??

Because Pesach catering is freaking expensive. Not even considering the wine. And, y'know, shmura matzah. (No, but really, I think it's the 10 kinds of Pesach "cookies"/"brownies" and all that sort of thing that adds up.)

Tangent from pretty much nowhere:
Hee. I saw shmura matzah meal today at the Butcherie.....

And another tangent: This year, for what I believe is the first time, I saw "organic" matzah. Now tell me, how do you get any more organic than wheat and water?

Actually, I all the time buy organic matzah. By organic, I believe they mean no pesticides and what not on the wheat, but really, I think "organic matzah" is just code for "fancy matzah for all you yuppies and gourmands". The reason why I buy it is that typically it has a higher dietary fiber content, which makes it somewhat more digestable.
