In which we kick off Blank Verse Blog Week 2
Sunday, April 18th, 2004 08:31 amThis morning's entries from
rjpb
Reminded me that this is the eighteenth
Of April -- Blank Verse Blog Week starts today!
(See
cnoocy or
jadelennox for details.)
Last year I put heroic energy
Into the observation of this week.
I wonder if this year I'll show the same
Initiative, and energy, and all.
There are some entries I've been wanting to
Compose, on thoughtful topics, and I might
Not see my way to shaping them in verse.
Of course, I could just hold them off a week.
The rate I'm going, that would still be soon!
And on the other hand, as
msmidge said
Last year, I get so pensive writing verse --
And thus produced some ponder-worthy posts,
At least for me, if not my audience.
Whatever, then. I'll do what I can do.
But for today, it's time to drink my coffee,
Then take a walk, absorb some April sun.
The laundry ought to wait until tomorrow,
Since strike for Thespis will take place tonight,
And that will but create more dirty clothes...
And I've tomorrow off, a holiday!

Date: Sunday, April 18th, 2004 11:08 pm (UTC)Glad you enjoyed the show! No, I'm not being too diligent about collecting the canon. Mostly, I'm still not in a place where it would have been a good idea for me to do a show with Matthew. We'll have to see how things look for fall.
But it looks like I may be in a small-scale production of The Lion in Winter this, er, summer... playing Eleanor... more on *that* later!

Date: Sunday, April 18th, 2004 02:16 pm (UTC)Just when I thought it was safe to log on,
I now do feel obliged to follow suit
And turn my thoughts into verse five and five!
Oh well, I guess a little exercise
of my free verse might turn into something
that might be worth a public viewing here.
So here I go, with nothing much to lose
(except perhaps a night or two of sleep
while I attempt to remember how to
count each syllable before I type it).

Date: Monday, April 19th, 2004 07:37 am (UTC)I must apologize; I'll go and check
The settings on the post of which I spoke.
I tend to diligently filter posts,
But I don't know what setting that one got.
