Another sort of verse, for your amusement
Tuesday, April 20th, 2004 02:29 pm(C sent me this; it's good enough to share,
Although it scans in anapests, not iambs.)
Herewith an ode on gothy chickiness,
Set to a famous Billy Joel tune...
She's Always a Goth Chick to Me

Date: Tuesday, April 20th, 2004 08:40 pm (UTC)She wears a Sandman Death tee
No bigger than size 14
The way she smiles
Her feminine wiles
The way she preens
She squeals and coos and grins all night
"Let's go
and cast all the spells we know!"
She wears an ankh,
Goddess be thanked!
An elfin Wiccan, Druid too,
Pretty in black
She'll take you aback
She's a perky, chirpy
Goth girl (ba da da da da DA da da da da da da da da)
She's so wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, cheery,
You know that I'd do anything for her!
I'd trade all my Bauhaus albums
I'd even feign self-esteem!
Then we'd take flight
And soar through the night
It's the perkiest thing
A night-creature's dream
She wears an ankh,
Goddess be thanked!
An elfin Wiccan, Druid too,
Pretty in black
She'll take you aback
She's a perky, chirpy
Goth girl (ba da da da da DA da da da da da da da da)

Later, when I heard my roommate play Standing on a Beach: The Singles, I realized that the song was hardly typical of the band.
