Love Jewish music? Love a cappella music? Looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night, when Shabbat doesn't end until 9:05pm? Mark your calendars for this terrific event! Honorable Menschen are bringing their Spring 2004 concert series to Tremont Street, and you're invited!

Honorable Menschen is a 12-person co-ed a cappella group composed of graduate students and young professionals around the Boston area. Their repertoire ranges from Israeli pop songs to liturgical pieces to jazz arrangements.

The evening will begin with Havdalah (audience participation encouraged), and then the Menschen will ring out the Sabbath for us with an hour of Jewish a cappella tunes. Refreshments will be served.

Free (donations will be accepted after Shabbat) and open to all ages; no RSVP required!

The next one is actually more in your neck of the woods: We'll be the featured halftime performers at Open Mic Night at the BCCA (not to be confused with the BAC), on Sunday evening, June 27th. How's that? :-)

Wicked awesome cool! I'll make a note of it... any idea what time? (I thought open mic was Wed. - did it change?)

(Sorry it took so long for me to answer this!)

I don't know what their regular schedule has been, or even if it's altered for the summer. Maybe they have different varieties of open mic at different times? I've looked over their web page trying to figure out just this sort of thing -- and couldn't really make heads or tails of it, to be honest. But what we have been told is that the open mic thingy starts at 7 (not sure how late it runs) and we can expect to go on in the vicinity of 8pm, for probably a ~30-minute set.

As for delayed responses -- nonsense! I note you've been busy of late :-)

The schedule could very well have changed, I haven't been there lately...

And thanks for understanding! I have felt a bit less guilty about falling behind b/c most of the people I correspond with have at least been getting updates, and know I haven't just vanished. Useful, that.
