I'm baaack!

Whoof! My flights back from Sacramento yesterday connected through Chicago, and since there was snow in Chicago yesterday morning (lots and *lots* of snow), they delayed my takeoff in Sacramento for four hours (from 11:10am to 3:20pm) until they had actual clearance to bring the plane to O'Hare. Luckily, (a) I had books and my laptop to entertain me in the gate in Sacramento all that time, and (b) the connecting flight at O'Hare was equally held up (from 6pm to 10:20pm), so I made it after all. I'm really grateful I didn't get held up overnight like some people [*wave* to hammercock!].

Landed in Boston around 1:15. Home (by cab) by 2am. In bed by 3am. And -- back to work this morning by 11:30am, to start digging out from under 150 e-mails and such.

The week was good, though -- I got to play with my niece (now 4-1/2; I've gotta update her picture pages) for two whole days. And cool Chanukah presents from Mom (granted, she took me out shopping to find them): new flannel PJ's, and a knockout purple stretch velvet dress (long, spaghetti straps) that we found on sale! Woo!

So, more about the trip when I get a chance to finish the long entries I'm writing up at home.

Ooh, latkes... based on your culinary reputation, I bet they're worth showing up for... but sadly I'll be chained to my computer working on a booklet project once I get home tonight. (I'm sure someday I will manage to attend an OPN!)

As for the dress, you can safely expect it to put in an appearance at Arisia :-)
