In which I am given a new pirate name

Him: That's nice. What is it?
Me: ... A sweater?
Him: No, I mean what's it made of?
Me: It's chenille.
Him: Ah.
Me: Nylon and spandex, mostly, but organized for maximum cuddliness.
Him: Indeed.

Some hours later:
Him: You know, there are a bunch of names that rhyme with "chenille".
Me: Like? The Captain and Tenille?
Him: That would be one; Shaquille O'Neal...
Me: Ball, comma Lucille?
Him: Yeah, maybe...

Some minutes later:
Him: So, the thing is, you could come up with some really great costumes using that [chenille].
Me: ... "The Captain and Chenille"?
Him: (Seizes the pirate hat off the coatrack and jams it on his head. Triumphantly:) See? We're that, right there!
Me: (Looks up at the hat. Looks down at my sweater. Laughs.)
Him: -- Or! (Puts the pirate hat on my head. Looks at me significantly.) ... Chenille O'Keel! (Beat.) Only you'd need -- a shamrock. (Beat.) No, seriously, y'know, that would be such a funny costume! (Beat.) If... you're me.

I swear I couldn't make this stuff up. :-) I wonder if they make pirate hats in green?


Saw Murder (yay!), but missed Anything Goes (boo). Stopped by ceo and gosling's for what should have been only a few minutes, except that then I got my shoulders and forearms blissfully liquified by nacht_musik, whom I owe big time.

7am call for mitgsp light hang tomorrow. Bed now.

Hmm. If you really want to come out, I could suggest some more appropriate venues though doing it in front of your friends would be neat.
