Yiddish theater happenings in Boston (or at least, Newton and Cambridge)
Thursday, January 29th, 2009 02:27 pmIn the past half-hour I have gotten two apparently unrelated email inquiries about area productions of Yiddish theater this spring!
One is regarding group ticket sales from The Jewish Theatre of New England: "We have a wonderful show coming up in March, The Three Yiddish Divas, which features some beautiful Yiddish singing. Does your temple have a Yiddish group that would be interested in attending for a reduced group rate?" (We don't, as such, but -- now you should all know -- the ticket info is here. March 21-22.)
The second is an audition notice: ( DI GANZE VELT IZ A TEATER, an evening of scenes from Yiddish theatre at the Loeb Drama Center. Auditioning next week, performing sometime TBD in April. )
... What are the odds that that could be made to fail to conflict with Winter's Tale? :-} Maybe I'll go to the auditions anyway, just for kicks...
